Sophia’s Rock Beat: 10/15/11-10/22/11

10/15 brought us back to Radio in Somerville (formerly Club Choices) for Sarah Rabdau & Self-Employed Assassins (video), Garvy J and the Secret Pockets of Hope & Resistance (aka – the only band I trust with a 12-string guitar! video), and Eldridge Rodriguez (we unfortunately missed opener Parlour Bells) -Eldridge video:

10/21 brought us to TT the Bears for the Boston Emissions 3rd birthday party! Boston Emissions airs every Sunday night on WZLX (100.7) and again on internet-WBCN radio throughout the week – go like the facebook to learn more!
We caught the always entertaining Mellow Bravo (video 1, video 2), The Grinds (hot chicks playing garage-punk, yes please – video 1, video 2). And Mr. Duncan Wilder Johnson himself doing spoken word (Cask Mouse also played but I somehow managed to not take my camera out in time to catch them – blogfail.) here’s Duncan:

The next evening 10/22 we made our way, once again to Radio! The ever-talented, Grownup Noise opened: (second Grownup Noise video) and following were Highly Personal Trash (video 1, video 2) and St. Helena – (video 1, video 2). South Carolina band, Slow Runner also played the night (live video) and I’m including them here because it was the release of their awesome music video created by Boston-local Chris March, check it out!
